What is Snake Eyes in Dice Game?
In the game of craps, snake eyes are the outcome of rolling a pair of dice and landing only one pip on each die. When players roll snake eyes on the come bet, they lose their bet and are required to wager the same bet size before they can shoot again.
There are conditions that can dictate that a player may not lose their bet after rolling snake eyes in a craps game. If the player places a don’t pass line bet on the initial roll, they will win if the outcome of the roll lands on snake eyes. Additionally, if the point has been established, a snake eyes roll has no effect on the game.

The craps rules are pretty simple when it comes to snake eyes roll. Players are offered two pairs of dice to roll. Before the game begins, a wager needs to be placed on the Pass Line or the Don’t Pass Line before the shooter roll.
If you bet on the come out roll phase of the game and snake eyes (the lowest possible outcome is 2) appear, that is bad for you because you will lose your bet. That is considered crapping out. If you bet on the don’t pass line and roll the lowest possible outcome 2 or 3, it is good for you because you will win.
What Are the Odds of Rolling Snake Eyes?
Any craps player will tell you that the odds of rolling snake eyes in the dice game are pretty slim, set at 1 in 36. It is not a bet worth making because the probability of hitting is low. If you wager on the don’t come out bet, the house edge is 1.36%, and it will offer players slightly better chances of winning.
What Is the Best Roll in Craps?
To determine the best roll in a craps game, we need to look at the payout odds for each outcome. The snake eyes roll pays out even money in craps only if it is a wager on the don’t pass line, and the shooter rolls that number.
The best roll in craps game is between 6-8 once the point is set. This is because there are three ways of hitting both outcomes while all the other numbers from 4-10 have only two ways to reach the total. A bet on the shooter to rolling numbers 6 or 8 on the don’t come out bet has house edge is set at 4.0%.
