Unlike Omaha and Texas Hold’em, Seven Card Stud poker is mostly played with a Limit gambling structure, in which the stakes are in fixed increments. Let’s see the rules below.
Poker Ante
Before Seven Card Stud begins, all players bet a nominal amount. This is the charge of being dealt in the hand. For instance, the wager is $0.15 in a $1/$2 games.
Third Street
Every player is dealt with three cards, two hidden hole cards and one face up. The player with the lowermost exposed card is the ‘bring-in’ and starts the action.
Fourth Street
Every player receives an additional exposed card, known as ‘Fourth Street’. The first player to act is the one whose? exposed cards have the highest poker value. For instance, a player with an exposed pair of Kings will act first, if no other gambler is showing a pair of Aces or better. This player may check or wager the lower structured gambling amount.
Fifth Street

Sixth Street
Each gamer receives yet another exposed card, called ‘Sixth Street’. Again, the first bettor to act is the one who’s exposed cards have high poker value.
Seventh Street (or the River)
Each player gets a seventh and final card, dealt face-down, and only known to the player to whom the card is dealt. The first gambler to act is the one who’s exposed cards has high poker value.
The Showdown
If there is more than one player remaining when the final betting round is done, the last player or raiser shows his or her cards first. If there was no stake in the last round, the bettor in the initial seat shows cards first (Seat 1, then Seat 2, and so on).
The bettor with the best five-card poker hand takes the pot. In the event of equal poker hands, the pot will be divided equally between the gamblers with the best hands. When that is all done, a new game can now take place.
7 Card Stud Poker Games – Other Stud Variants
A different type of Seven Card Stud, known as Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo – ‘Stud Eight or Better’ or even ‘Stud/8’ is available to play at leading poker rooms.
