End of MGM Rewards Partnership with Hyatt

If you are a member of MGM Rewards and Hyatt Hotels, you might want to take advantage of their partnership before it ends on December 31, 2023. The two loyalty programs have been working together since 2013, offering their members reciprocal benefits and points-earning opportunities. However, this collaboration will soon come to an end, as MGM Resorts International has announced that it will launch its loyalty program in 2024.

Partnership between MGM Rewards and Hyatt Hotels is coming to an end

Overview of the MGM Rewards and Hyatt Partnership

If you have been enjoying the perks of the MGM Rewards and Hyatt partnership, such as complimentary room upgrades, late check-out, free parking, and bonus points, you must act fast to use them before they expire. You can still book stays at participating MGM Resorts properties until December 31, 2023, and earn and redeem points and benefits with both programs. However, after that date, you will no longer be able to link your accounts or transfer points between them.

Expiring Benefits: Act Fast to Take Advantage

You will also lose access to the exclusive M life Rewards experiences that Hyatt offers, such as tickets to shows, concerts, and sporting events. You will still be able to redeem your Hyatt points for free nights at MGM Resorts properties, but you will not receive any of the MGM Rewards benefits.

If you are loyal to MGM Resorts and want to continue earning and redeeming points with them, you will need to join their new loyalty program when it launches in 2024. The details of the new program are not yet available, but MGM Resorts has promised that it will offer “more personalized and rewarding experiences” for its members.

Booking and Redemption Deadlines for MGM Resorts Properties

To continue earning and redeeming points with Hyatt Hotels, loyal members will need to consider alternative hotel options. This applies not only in Las Vegas but also in other destinations where MGM Resorts operates. Hyatt has a limited presence in Las Vegas, with only four properties: Hyatt Place Las Vegas at Silverton Village, Hyatt Place Las Vegas/Henderson, Hyatt Place Las Vegas Airport South, and Hyatt Residence Club Las Vegas. However, Hyatt has a broader network of hotels around the world, with more than 1,000 properties in over 60 countries.

Exploring Alternatives: Other Hotel Options in Las Vegas

To continue earning and redeeming points with Hyatt, loyal members will need to consider alternative hotel options. You might want to consider Marriott Bonvoy or Hilton Honors. Both programs have a strong presence in Las Vegas and other destinations where MGM Resorts operates. They also offer reciprocal benefits and points-earning opportunities with other partners, such as airlines, car rental companies, credit cards, and more.

Making the Most of the MGM Rewards and Hyatt Partnership Before It Ends

The MGM Rewards and Hyatt partnership has been a great way for travelers to enjoy the best of both worlds: the luxury and entertainment of MGM Resorts and the comfort and convenience of Hyatt. However, all good things must come to an end, and this partnership is no exception. If you want to make the most of it before it expires, you should book your stays soon and use your points and benefits wisely. Alternatively, you can look for other loyalty programs that suit your travel needs and preferences.
